Fantastic staff here. They have a passion for what they do and it shows. I spent a good half an hour here asking questions on roof top loaders for my kayak as well as basic loading questions. I bought some attachments for my cross bars and the tips they gave me made my task much easier. Going back today for some straps.They have better quality accessories here than you find on Amazon.

Talk about an upgrade!! Ty, Dave and the Vanhunks Family are amazingly informative and engaging. They made sure I knew what was what and who did what, and "coaxed" me into buying my Shad. (Product practically sells itself...) I've been a Shad rider for 2 summers now, and I am in LOVE with it, as well as the ongoing customer support. Hands down, they support your investment by investing right back into you. Vanhunks is my Water Wife, and till death do us part!!! Very well worth looking into and even talking to Dave or any sales team members to better your water based outdoors experiences!! Again, they care about your investment and do everything in their power to help you increase the quality of your time on the water. 100/5 stars.Edit: the Shad is such a stable yak... I have no problem standing and casting anything from weightless senkos to 7 or 8 oz of lead and bait. And trolling with the fin drive is fuuuuuunnnn, as well as an excellent no-impact excersise. Supreme comfort for my 5-8 hour excursions. The seat is comfortable and the deck is roomy. Added some marine deck foam padding for sound dampening and grip.
We love our tandem kayak. It is actually very roomy. My husband, my 2 year old and myself all fit along with all our gear. We have had nothing but great experiences with vanhunks and highly recommend them.

They let us try out the pedal Kayaks on a lake and were very helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Their warehouse is very good and a pleasure to visit. We have been wanting kayaks for some time. “Did our own research” online. Came by Vanhunks first and was met by Seth. Tall young man. Told a few things. We then went to another store in south Sarasota and promptly left it and went back to Vamhunks and bought two kayaks. Seth and his partner helped us get them on the car and was extremely helpful in all aspects of the purchase. If you’re looking for a kayak for sport or leisure, this is the place.

We bought both of our kayaks at Vanhunks Boarding in Sarasota County. After researching and costing many online stores and fat shops/places that sold kayaks we decided that after all was said and done The Vanhunks family owned business is by far the best around. We had a few equipment failures and without any problems they replaced items and gave additional advice etc. we love our yaks and will soon upgrade my wife’s 9’ Manatee to a bigger yak like my 11’ MauiMaui. We send everyone we talk to about yaks to this business. You won’t find a more hands on company that wants customers satisfied no matter what. Even if your not local and live in another state. My wife and I were recommended to this place by a local fishing store. The people who own and operate this store are absolutely outstanding. So very helpful and kind. We have been looking around for two Kayak's, not sure what we were actually looking for. We had pretty good idea of what we wanted and didn't want. They were so very helpful in helping us choose what fit us best, and was comfortable too us. We will be taking two Kayaks on a water test, which they offer!! And I know we will be leaving with two Kayaks!!! We'll made with many nice options. They are a quality brand, not cheap like many stores carry. This is not low end quality I can assure you, and their prices won't empty your pockets. Awesome place and staff!!!After a test run at a local water spot. My wife and I tried out a Tarpon and a Black Bass. These things just glide through the water effortlessly. Many nice features on these kayaks. Ivan, Kelly and Tyrone are very knowledgeable and helpful. Some of the most friendly people you will meet. We purchased the Tarpon and Black Bass kayaks, with any accessories. They are even holding our kayaks for us until we head back home to Illinois. Even with the purchase of two Kayaks, and all the accessories, we still paid less than two Kayaks back home! I honestly can't say enough nice things about this shop and it's staff. This is a must see place if your shopping for any type of water sport. My wife and I bought two Van Hunks Mahi Mahi kayaks about two years ago at Gulf Coast Kayaks in Matlatcha. We have been very happy with them.Unfortunately, My wife hurt her back a while back and has not been able to enjoy them with me. So, in an effort to make things easier, we were interest in considering a small motor system that might give her the assistance she needed.Last Saturday, we we able to demo the Bixby system. Boy were we impressed!After the demo, we visited the store in Sarasota and were greeted almost as family. They helped us, not only purchase two thrusters, they updated the most recent revisions to our kayaks to the most recent improvements, at no cost!Boy are we happy. If we could give a 10 star rating we would!Thanks guys!Back on the WATER!
I love my Vanhunks Orca! I was brand new to kayaking and did a lot of research. I was a little skeptical with the Orca at first because of the lack of reviews but Tyrone at Vanhunks was very helpful and answered every email. The kayak is great quality. I have taken it out in both tandom and solo. It tracks and moves great. I also love the adjustable paddles that comes with it.
